Michael has over 16 years of athletic training experience, having held positions in the NBA, WNBA and the International Basketball League. Michael is in his second season with the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA as the team’s Director of Sports Medicine. He previously worked with the Grand Rapid Drive, Santa Cruz Warriors as well as the Reno Bighorns. Michael also has experience as a former Navy officer, has interned for the Buffalo Bills and served as a student assistant for the USA Women’s Senior National Basketball Team during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Michael is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a speaker, educator and mentor. Michael has worked with numerous athletes in a number of professional sports and has a solid record of results.
As the Chief Operating Officer, Val was responsible for bringing the first Injury Resolved Camp to McEachern High School, of which she is an alum. Ms. Howell’s goals are to expand the reach and service of First Round Pick to all students, whether affluent or at-risk students. She was introduced to Sports Medicine in high school under the teachings of Coach Taylor. Val served as a student athletic trainer in college under Michael Douglas, ATC. She went on to study at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, obtaining a Masters in Athletic Training. Val has dedicated the last decade educating America’s youth and strives to make productive citizens out of all children and students.
Jerone has a wealth of experience in the Sports Industry as an international professional basketball player and businessman. Jerone is the CEO of Universal Phoenix Group, LLC (UPG), Hangtime, LLC and is the Chairman of UBA Reason, Foundation. At the helm of UPG, Mr. Dodd has gained invaluable experience in all aspects of sports entertainment and marketing and he uses this to enhance prospects and visibility for First Round Pick (FRP). Hangtime, LLC is a global market entry and management group, with notable operations and partnerships in Asia, Europe, S.America and Africa. Via UBA Reason Foundation’s programs, focused on cross-cultural exchange in sports, education, technology and culture, Jerone aligns Injury Resolved/FRP as the official training group of the brand. Mr. Dodd also has experience as a sports radio personality and is a serial entrepreneur.
